Mrs. Elizabeth Beers, wife of Capt. George H. Beers, died suddenly at her home in DePauw place, Sunday night shortly after 10 o'clock. An attack of heart disease was the cause of her death. Mrs. Beers was seventy-three years of age, and was a native of Floyd county, where she had lived all of her life. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Straw, a pioneer of Floyd county, and was born three miles from New Albany, November 16, 1840. August 18, she and her husband celebrated their golden wedding. Besides her husband she is survived by ten children. They are Miss Carrie Beers, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Miss Bertha Beers, of Baltimore; Robert Beers, of St. Louis; George Beers, of San Francisco; Mrs. Bessie Everest, of Ashland, Wis., and Misses Mary F., Martha, Katherine Beers, Harry Beers, and Mrs. Anna Stevenson, of New Albany. Two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Spence, of New Albany, and Mrs. Jane Porter, of Newcastle, Pa., and two brothers, John Straw, of Terre Haute, and A. J.
