Anna C. Liebenow (1901-1904) Victim of General Slocum ship disaster of June 15, 1904 (b. New Years Day, January 01, 1901, possibly 133 East 125th Street, Manhattan, New York City, New York County, New York, USA - d. June 15, 1904, North Brother Island across from East 148th Street, East River, aboard the ship General Slocum, Bronx, Bronx County County, New York City, New York, USA) Daughter of Anna C. X (1872-1957) and Paul Libenow (1871-1910). Her birth certificate number is "1700" and her death certificate number is "3323". Her siblings include: Adella (Tiby) Martha Liebenow (1903-2004) who survived the fire and married James Wotherspoon (1903-1982); and Helen Liebenow (1898-1904) who died in the fire and who's body was never identified and is buried in a mass grave with the other unidentified bodies. Helen's birth certificate is number "32329" and a death certificate may not have been issued. Two cousins and two aunts also perished in the fire. One of the relatives who died was Martha Liebenow (1875-1904) of 404 5th Street in Manhattan. Martha's death certificate is "3746". Anna's shoes are archived at the New York Historical Society.
