J.C. was born in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, TX and died in Dallas County TX. He had a heart attack and died at age 33. He was the son of Clifton Colice Caddell and Mary Kimbrow. He was saved and baptized in Sulphur Springs and attended school there. He served three years in the U.S. Army. He married Betty Cawthon on July 3, 1964 in Greenville, Hunt, Texas. He was ordained as a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church of Farmers Branch, Dallas, TX, where he taught Sunday School. He was a business owner and a Journeyman carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Farmers Branch J.C.'s. He was a loving, caring and kind husband and father.
J.C. enlisted in the U.S. Army on 17 Mar 1961. On 8 Jan 1964 J.C. returned to Ft. Hood after a weekend leave. He hitch hiked back to base and got back late. A friend answered for him at roll call. J.C. refused to give the name of the friend and was demoted back to private. He said that he was never sorry for not giving his friend's name.
J.C. was survived by his wife Betty, son Clifton, daughter Elizabeth,mother, brother Elton and sister Opal. He was proceeded in death by his father and his brother Wilburn Caddell.
