He was born April 23, 1938 in Green County, and was the son of the late Curtis Lee and Hannah Morris Conley.
On December 1, 1959 he married Brenda Lee Beasley who preceded him on April 23, 2011. He also was preceded by a son, Jerry Anderson Conley.
He moved to this area after his marriage in Greene County, and worked for a number of years at Dean Steel. He retired as a foreman for Shen-Valley Masonry and loved to Golf.
Surviving are one son, Curtis R. Conley of Clover Hill, one daughter, Gloria K. Reedy of Penn Laird, four brothers, Otho Lee Conley and Clee Conley both of Elkton, and Earl Conley and George Conley both of Fredericksburg, four sisters, Marie Fuchs and Janie Dean both of Harrisonburg, and Karen Medley and Doris Hilldrup both of Fredericksburg, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, by Rev. James Kite. Burial will follow at the Linville Cemetery. The family will receive Monday evening from 7 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
