Civil War Confederate Army Major General. His brother was Union Major General Thomas Leondias Crittenden. Was not a successful commander, and resigned his commission in October 1862. His grave in the State Cemetery can be difficult to find, because his name on his marker is illegible. He is buried in the family plot, Section N, Lot 198, with a small stone marker on which only his dates of birth and death are legible.
