Mr. Carmichael passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Fort Worth. He was born to James Lewis and Mary Faye Taack Carmichael on June 1, 1927 in the Plainview Community, Johnson County. George married Lula Delle Junge on December 25, 1946 in Cleburne. George was an exceptional and loving parent. He not only parented his own daughter, but many others in the area. He was a giving man, always placing the need of others above his own needs. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church for over 65 years. His great grandfather was the first settler of Johnson County. George took great pride in his ability to tell of the history of Cleburne and was community minded throughout his life. He was well respected by his peers and family members, alike. George was a member of the Christian Business Men, Masonic Lodge of Cleburne, and Scottish Rite of Fort Worth, as well as being active with the Red Cross and Johnson County Emergency Management. Mr. Carmichael's talent for storytelling and his giving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, James Harold Carmichael.

Survivors include his daughter, Karla Delle Carmichael; several generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
