SEYMOUR, ROY - age 67 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He spent his life loving and caring for others, especially his family. He retired after 42 years of service from Ingersoll Rand Equipment Sales. He served the Lord gladly at John Sevier Baptist and Roseberry Baptist Church as a faithful member and deacon. Preceded in death by parents, Lon and Gertie Seymour; brothers, Lawrence, Henry, Fred, and Clyde Seymour. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Mounger Seymour, who never left his side; daughters and sons-in-law, Shonda (Daryl) Haggard, Keesha (Tim) Gallagher, and Gayle (Nathan) Chesney; and grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsay), Emily and Nicholas Haggard, Alex Holt, Jake Gallagher, and Tanner, Ginna, and Bryden Chesney; brother, Kenneth (Diane) Seymour; sisters, Vangie (Charles) Davis, and Alma (Jess) Massengil. A special thanks to Thompson Cancer Center and Covenant Hospice Care for their support and compassion. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Kenny Shinlever officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Sunday School Class #7 and Deacons of Roseberry Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roseberry Baptist Church Building Fund or Food Pantry, 2920 Roseberry Road, Mascot, TN 37806.
