Thurza ‘Thursey/Thursday’/Theresa Jane (Anderson) (F)
(1854-1931)
Thurza Jane, called 'Thursday' by her granddaughter may also have been named Theresa Jane. She was the daughter of James A. Anderson (1829-1911) AND Nancy Jane (Hamm) Anderson (1828-1899).

Thurza married James Lafayette ‘Fate' Smithee (1853-1940) on 03-11-1875 Stone Co. Arkansas, USA.

According to the 1900 Census of Hampton, Marion Co. AR., Lafayette Smitha (James Lafayette 'Fate' Smithee) and his wife, Jane (Thurza Jane) had 12 children but only 7 were living, including:

1. Jessie/Jesse/Chester/Chesley/Chelie Alexander 'Alex' Smithee (1876–1930); married #1 Fannie Bell/Belle (Turney); married #2 Annie Unknown - this marriage CAN NOT be proven; married #2 Manda Louella 'Eller' O'Daniel.

2. Andrew Jackson Smithee (1878–1937); married #1 Lucinda J. Summers; married #2 Mary 'Barto' (Stephens) – they had 04 children; married #3 Malissia Jane 'Lis' (McEntire). NOTE: Andrew's gravestone incorrectly lists 1887 as birth date, which should be 1878.

3. Martha Elizabeth (Smithee) ((Luke)) ((Tyler)); born 1879 AR; died 1966 OK; married #1 Isaac Luke; married #2 Isaac Reeves Tyler.

4. George Washington Smithee (1883–1972); married Cora Jane (Husky/Huskey). Moved to Washington state.

5. Amanda Loucinda Louisa Bell 'Mindy/Minda' (Smithee) ((Graves)); born 11-23-1884 AR; d 07-28-1979 Tulsa, OK; married Thomas Benton Graves. Moved to Oklahoma

6. Hersie/Hersey/Hessie (Smithee) ((Johnson)); born 09-1891 AR; d 02-1939; married Charles Arthur Johnson. Moved to Washington state.

To my Great-Grandmother, thanks for sharing your love of quilting, flower growing, and cooking, with my Mother; who then passed these same passions on to me.
