She died in 1873 and Mr. Branch moved to Barton County, Kansas in 1874, where he remained until 1880, when he returned to Marion County, Illinois and united in marriage to Callie Stribling. To this union two children were born; Mabel R. and Charley.
In the summer of 1885 he moved to Springfield, Missouri, where his wife departed this life in November of that year.
In 1904 he came to Harper County, where he remained until his death, his children having preceded him to the other life.
Deceased was a respected citizen, and his last moments in life were cheered by his comrades of the war, who also had charge of his funeral, which by request of the deceased was very simple, and the remains were laid to rest in the Buffalo Cemetery on Thursday, August 31, 1911.
