"Huston, Feb 15, 1959
Dear Velma and Buck,
You[']re welcome letter received. Was so glad to hear from you nice folks again. I am doing very well now. I have gotten over my "blue" at last. Hope you are both well. I can't say I am doing anything that is worth telling you about. My eyesight is getting so bad, I [ ] if can get by. You ask me how Uncle Tom me fixed. Well, he did not have anything. He had no money when we married and as you must know, he was
too old to [do] anything then. He got a pension, but after we were married, they cut him off. Said I could take care of him and I did. My first husband left me property and I have always made the living and was happy to share with him now. You ask me to come stay with you. I[d] just love to, but I am trying to sell my holding here and if I can, then I could come, but like it, I will have to be here if I sell as no one can ausbece [?] for me. I have apartments I rent. That is the way I make my living and have for so long. I know I would like the Nevada. You folks are doing . ."

15 Feb 1959: Letter provided by Randall W. Younker: Written by his widow, Lena Crose, after Tom's passing - Texas:
You folks are doing . ."
Lena"
