Patricia Mae "Pat" Grittman, of Creswell died May 8 following a stroke. She was 72.

Patricia was born May 23, 1931, in Port Angeles, Wash., to Joe and Isabelle Fuller Oxenford. She married Bradford Grittman in Portland on July 4, 1979. He died Oct. 5, 1994.

She moved to this area 47 years ago and lived in Eugene before settling in Creswell in 1961. She graduated from Crescent High School in Washington in 1949.

She worked as a cook for North's Chuck Wagon and the Goshen Truck Stop Cafe. She also owned and operated the Now and Then Second Hand Store in Creswell. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilynn Shane of Melrose, Mont., and Kathy Kelley of Springfield; three brothers, Joe Oxenford of Christmas Valley, Ray Oxenford of Eugene and John Oxenford of Fall River Mills, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
