Mrs. Bertelsen Died Monday

Mrs. Bertel Bertelsen, Sr. of Washington, Nebraska, 79 years of age, passed away at 6 a.m. Monday, July 3rd, at the Fremont hospital, following a ten-day illness.

Survivors are her husband, Bertel Bertelsen, Sr. of Washington, Nebr.; sons Hans of Fremont, Elmer and Bertel, Jr. of Washington, Nebr.; one daughter, Mrs. Chris Mathiesen of Burlingame, California, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5th at 2 p.m. at the Washington Community church with the Rev. Harold Laursen of Kennard, officiating. The Reckmeyer Funeral Home of Arlington will be in charge of arrangements.

Pall bearers were William and Carsen Petersen of Kennard, Eric Knudsen and Ed Goedeker of Washington, B. J. Bergman, Washington and Elmer Nielsen of Kennard.

A brother and sister lives in Denmark and also survive. Mrs. Bertelsen was born October 4, 1881 at Thorenne, Denmark.
