SACRAMENTO - Sarah Belle Garst Patterson died at her home in Sacramento, Kentucky on Friday, April 20, 2012. Sarah Belle was born on November 13, 1928 to Rachael Miller Garst and Guy Morehead Garst. She was a lifetime member of the Sacramento United Methodist Church and graduated from Sacramento High School. She was a homemaker, a 50 year member of the Sacramento Order of the Eastern Star, and a Kentucky Colonel. She was an active member of the Sacramento Methodist Women's Organization, enjoyed singing in the Methodist church choir, listening to gospel music, reading her Bible, and attending and hosting the Sacramento Homemakers. Sarah Belle loved working in her rose bed, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross stitch, and oil painting. In later years she began making stained glass stepping stones and playing bridge. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Patterson in 2006 and a grandson, Christopher J. Barnett in 2006; three brothers, Wesley Garst, George Garst, and Guy Garst; and two sisters, Virginia Ferguson and Kathleen Kamuf.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Bob) Jennings, Guy (Sandra) Patterson, David (Joanie) Patterson, and Susan (William) Logsdon, all of Sacramento; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Tommy) Burrough, Laryssa (Marty) Traylor, Clint (Michele) Patterson, Misty (Matt) Baggett, Casey Logsdon Baucum, Leslie Patterson Ferguson, and Aaron Patterson; great-grandchildren Lee Baggett, Lauren Baggett, Whitley Patterson, Logan Patterson, Natalie Patterson, Callie Baucum, Braxton Baucum, Alex Baucum, Sophie Nguyen, Rachel Traylor, Jack Traylor, Meredith Traylor, Lily Burrough, Alyssa Belle Burrough, and Emily Burrough; two sister-in-laws, Irene Garst and Mary Nell Seddon; one brother-in-law, Arthur Patterson; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and three special friends, Betty Everly, Phyllis Gillim, and Christie Woodburn.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00AM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Rev. Marvin Lagle officiating. Burial in Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8PM and Monday after 9:00AM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund or the Sacramento United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
