She attended Wood Lake Public School, Mankota Teachers College and the University of Minnesota. She taught school for forty-one years in Minnesota, North Dakota and Montana.
In 1938 she, with her parents, moved from their farm home near Wood Lake, Minnesota, to Hanley Falls where she lived until moving to Granite Falls, Minnesota in 1972.
She entered the Granite Falls Manor in June 1981 and has resided there until the time of her death on May 24, 1984.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Tilda, Mrs. Albert Milbradt.
Julia is survived by many relatives and friends and former students.
