Alamo Defender. He with his family immigrated to Texas, settled in Gonzales, where he farmed and also done carpentry. On February 23, 1836, he mustered into the Gonzales Ranging Company of Mounted Volunteers. He rode to the relief of the Alamo with this group, arrived on March 1, 1836 and died five days later in the battle of the Alamo. Kent County Texas, established in 1876, was named in his honor. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
