POQUOSON - Edward Lee McClelland went home to the Lord on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008. He was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Huntington, W.Va., and he and his wife of 64 years, Betty, made their home in Poquoson for over 40 years.
Ed served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII as a fighter pilot. He retired from N.A.S.A. after many years of service. Ed loved the Lord and worked in service for Him as an active member of Emmaus Baptist Church in Poquoson.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving and precious wife, Betty; and eldest son, Michael Lewis McClelland Sr.
He is survived by his son, Mark E. McClelland and wife, June of Poquoson; and their daughter, Heather Schott and husband, Steve and their son, Walker of Gloucester; a daughter, Marsha McClelland Odom and husband, Larry of Smithfield, and their sons, Justin Odom and wife, Vicky and their son, Andrew of Suffolk, and Ryan Odom of Smithfield. He is also survived by his late son, Michael's children, Cynthia Gregory and husband, Dirk and their three children, Gweneth, Owen, and Aidan of Suffolk, and Michael McClelland Jr. and his daughter, Faith McClelland.
