|Birth: ||Apr. 22, 1937|

Daughter of Margie Comstock(Margaret Rosa Comstock) and Jewell Fred Parks (not Frederick, but just Fred); wife of Wayne O'Neal (married in 1955);mother of Sherry, Karen, Gayle, Michelle and Misty Dawn; sister of Fred.
Some of Shirley's "sayings" that I recall:
THAT'S AS HANDY AS A POCKET ON A SHIRT
AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN SAY 'BOO PIGEON'
One saying that involved her that her younger brother actually came up with had to do with Shirley's incredible ability to make anything she set her mind to. Shirley, as a child, was always sewing and making doll clothes for her dolls. Her younger brother Freddie wanted her to play with him, but she was too busy making doll clothes. In his frustration, he told her:
LITTLE DOLLS CLOTHES!!! POO POO POO!
Shirley's mother, my Aunt Margie (Parks) taught them to say, "I have to chair chair" instead of them blurting out: I gotta pee!! Aunt Margie said that everyone knew what they were indicating anyway.
Shirley had made the flowers for my wedding that was supposed to have occured before her death. That wedding was called off which in the long run was a blessing. I kept those flowers, which were silk, in a box to preserve them. And used those flowers, after her death, to marry the wonderful guy I am now currently married to.
Shirley was great at sewing, and decorating cakes as well as painting, ceramics, and working on floral arrangements. There wasn't anything that she couldn't do. She wasn't actually my aunt, but she said I could call her Aunt Shirley and her daughter Michelle called my mom Aunt Norma Lee, even though our two mothers were first cousins.
Shirley is now with her parents and her daughter who was just as great as she was. There never was a sweeter person than her daughter, Sherry. (bio by: Sarah Capps)
