Yale University alumnus and New York State and New York City public official, who at one time, simultaneously held twelve titles, (including NYC Parks Commissioner and Chairman of the Long Island State Parks Commission) transformed the entire New York metropolitan area. "The Great Builder" was responsible for 35 major arterial highways, public housing projects (28,000 units), the 1964-65 World's Fair, Shea Stadium, Lincoln Center, Jones Beach, The Triboro, Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck and Verrazano Bridges, and the list goes on and on. At one time he had 80,000 people working under him. In the end, he crossed the wrong people and became persona non grata by the time of his death, on Long Island in 1981. Robert Moses, who helped destroy the once-great city of Brooklyn and was the single biggest reason the Dodgers left for Los Angeles. He was a power mad, government bureaucrat who ruined many lives.May God have mercy on your soul!
