"Arthur A Jackman, 80, of Sample Flats Road, Corry, Pa, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Corry Manor. He was born on July 30, 1931, in Corry, Pa, a son of the late Afton and Luella Clark Jackman. Art was raised and educated in the Columbus and Corry areas. As a young man, Arthur worked for Charlie Parkhurst as a truck driver, the Carnation Milk Plant, Brush Block, Pennsylvania Railroad, Corry Jamestown, and Welch's in North East, Pa. On July 30, 1951, he began working for McInnes Steel, where he worked various jobs. He retired in December 1991 as manager of Non-Destructive Testing with more than 40 years of service with McInnes Steel. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling, traveling and spending his winters in Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Morris and Erma Bemis; and two brothers, Harold and Glen Jackman. Art is survived by his wife, Dorothy B Jackman, whom he married on June, 29, 1950, in Columbus, Pa; three daughters...and one son...He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N Center St, Corry, Pa, on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the memorial service there at noon. The Rev Lynn Cirigliano will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa."
