Kathryn Lucille "Lucy" Meisel, 79, of 560 Dutch Hill Road, Cogan Station, entered into the arms of Jesus at her home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.

Born Aug. 23, 1932, in Quiggleville, she was a daughter of Glen N. and Elsie V. Kyle Stroble. She married Norwood C. Meisel on Oct. 27, 1950.

She attended Quiggleville School and then State Road Schools until the 8th grade. She was a member of Quiggleville United Methodist Church.

Lucy and her husband, Nory, tended the family farm, milking cows, milking goats, and raising two children together. She had a love of gardening, reading, crafts, hunting, baking, and riding on her golf cart on their farm. In addition to their farm, Lucy had worked at Bair's Truck Stop, Agway Garden Center, Hillcrest Farms Nursery, and Lowe's Garden Center.

Her greatest joy was being with her family. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 60 years, are two children, Rocky L. Meisel (Vernice Vaughn, her caregiver), with whom she lived, and Bonnie K. Ulmer (Charles) of Cogan Station; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Machmer (Brian), Scott Meisel (Jelena), Nicole Bower (Chad), Melinda DeWald (Ted), Seth Ulmer, Sara DeHoratius (Patrick) and Rachel Scott (Isaac); 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Stroble (Jean) of Cogan Station and Forrest Stroble (Verla).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Faye Stroble and a great- granddaughter, Elizabeth Scott.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Quiggleville United Methodist Church, 2079 Route 973 West, Cogan Station, with her nephew, Pastor Timothy Meisel, officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Quiggleville. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Tribe Missions, 1000 E. First St., Sanford, FL 32771, or Susquehanna Home Care and Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
