Elizabeth "Libby" Randolph Scheid, 84, of Oakmont, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, in UPMC St. Margaret's surrounded by her beloved family. She was born June 21, 1927, to Edward Fitz Randolph and Elizabeth McKean Randolph. Originally from the Mt. Vernon area of New Kensington, she was a resident at Longwood at Oakmont for the past 14 years. She was a member of New Kensington United Methodist Church, but in recent years she attended services at Longwood. She was a graduate of New Kensington High School and Allegheny College (1949). Her favorite song, "What I Did for Love," suited her so well because her priority was loving and caring for her family. She always kept an organized and beautiful home and flower garden. She loved to knit and crochet, and made afghans, sweaters and baby clothes for her family and friends. She loved dogs and had several dachshunds as pets. She enjoyed watching the Steelers with her husband and attended the Kiski Cavalier football games as long as she was able. She was very involved in community service and lent her excellent clerical skills to the Girl Scouts, the Ladies Auxiliary of Citizen's General Hospital, the Little Shop and the Resident Council of Longwood. She was predeceased by her husband, George Robert Scheid, M.D., who died Feb. 26, 1985; and her sister, June Hall, of Gales Ferry, Conn. Surviving are her children, Melanie Scheid Myers and her husband, Rev. Byron Myers, of Oil City, and Edward Randolph "Randy" Scheid, M.D., and his wife, Susan Earley Scheid, of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Lauren Myers Stoltz and her husband, Lucas, Tyler, Trevor and Sarah Scheid; and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Lynn "Liza" Stoltz; nieces, Linda Sue Hall and Melissa Smith; and nephew, Robert Hall. Private services will be held at the family's convenience at the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME in Lower Burrell. She will be interred in Plum Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Stained Glass Window Restoration Fund, Grace United Methodist Church, 100 Central Ave., Oil City, PA 16301
