Actress of the Silent-Screen. Born Freda Cleo Helwig, she appeared in a number of silent-era (1910s-20s) films including "Beauty and the Beast" (1912), "The Secret Orchard" (1915), "Dangerous Pastime" (1922), and "The Beautiful and the Damned" (1922). She later had bit parts in a handful of films in the 1930s thru 1950s. Married to prolific director James W. Horne (they are buried side-by-side), and mother of twin actors June Horne and James Horne, Jr.
