One of my maternal great-uncles and one of 13 children born to John Wisneski and Mary Cegelka-Wisneski (Jan Wisniewski and Marjanna Cegelka-Wisniewski). His siblings include: 2 boys who were named Stanley and who died in infancy, Stella Wisneski-Rychick-Miller (b. Jan. 1910 - deceased), Anthony Wisneski (b. Aug. 1911 - deceased), Lydia Wisneski-Tomczyk (b. Sept. 1913), Bertha Wisneski-Kasztejna (b. Aug. 1915, d. July 4, 1998), Edna Wisneski-Grzyb (b. Nov. 13, 1919), Edward Wisneski (b. May 1921 - deceased), John Wisneski (b. May 1923 - deceased), Mary Wisneski-Zukauskas (b. Nov. 1924), Wanda Wisneski-Dumonski (b. Mar. 1929 - deceased), and Henry Wisneski (b. Oct. 1932).
Uncle Walter married Mary Krule. At this time, I am not too sure of the date of the marriage and from what I understand, the marriage did not last and ended in divorce. There were no children from this marriage as far as I know. He never remarried after his first marriage.
Uncle Walter served in the Navy during World War II. His rank was MM2.
He was a wonderful man who was very thoughtful. I remember mentioning that I was collecting some coins from different countries...not long after, he gave me a collection of Canadian coins that he had. I still have them.
Every time I picture Uncle Walter in my mind, I see him smiling.
