FORMER SOLDIER IN HAWAII PASSES HERE
Clyde Henry Whalan Had Served In Army Three Years
Clyde Henry Whalan, 28, for the past nine months employed at the Veteran's Hospital here, died Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock after an illness of six days. Death resulted from pneumonia.
Mr. Whalan had served three years in the United States army in Hawaii, entering the service in 1929.
He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. James Whalan. Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. C.C. Heath of Birmingham, Mrs. Sam McDaniel of Sylacauga, and Mrs. Van Hill, Mrs. Horace Waggoner and Miss Olie Whalan, all of Holt; one brother, Willard of Rome, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Holt Baptist Church, with Rev. C. Jackson and Rev. Hudson officiating. Internment will be in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Mathis-Jones in charge.
