Graveside services for Roselyn bolton Scott, 87, of Rusk will be at Moseley Cemetery, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Don Copeland will officiate under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Ms. Scott was born February 4, 1925 in Rusk to the late William Edward Bolton and Rose Annie Moseley Bolton. She grew up in Rusk and graduated from Rusk High School in 1942. After attending Tyler Junior College, Ms. Scott attended Henderson County Junior College. She graduated in 1953 with an Associate Degree in nursing. She worked at Rusk State Hospital for 11 years and Nan Travis Hospital. Ms. Scott retired from Nan Travis Hospital after 32 years.
Ms. Scott's interests were many. She loved cattle ranching, horses and nature. Her bowling team won tournaments state-wide and she was an avid tennis player. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rusk and was instrumental in establishing the church library.
Ms. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward and Rose Bolton; a sister, Marie Bolton Gowin; and a brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Mary Ella Bolton.
Left to cherish her memory are cousins, John Sequine Bolton and wife, Carroll of Kilgore; Dolores Miller Bryson, Rusk; Evelyn Bolton Ezell, Maydelle; Eric Holmlin, Woodstock, New York; Elizabeth Anne Rylander, Lubbock; Shannon Ezell, Jacksonville; great niece, Barbara Elaine Morgan and husband, Ricky; great great niece and nephew, Alexis and Alex Morgan; numerous other family members and close friend and caregiver, Mollie Trotter Spears, who had been by her side for many years.
The family will receive friends at Wallace Thompson Funeral Home, Tuesday, april 3, 2012 between 6-8 p.m.
If desired, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist church, 255 S. Henderson St., P.O. Box 99, Rusk, TX 75785 or charity of choice.
