Shreveport, LA – Mrs. Barbara Blum Armstrong, born October 29, 1927, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012, after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18th, with a memorial service following in The St. Michael the Archangel Chapel at The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans with Father Peter B. Mangum, JCL, JV officiating.
Bobby was a native of Donaldsonville, LA. She attended Gulf Park College and then graduated from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. She lived much of her life in New Orleans, recently moved to Shreveport, was an avid bridge player and always had a smile for all of her many friends. Bobby was a devout Catholic and doted on her daughter, Bobby Lou, all of her life. She was married to Lou the love of her life for 58 years.
Bobby was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and George Blum, cousin, Lois Leche Windle and aunt, Beulah Blum.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Louis P. Armstrong; and daughter, Barbara L. "Bobby Lou" Armstrong.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans; Little Sisters of the Poor; or the charity of your choice.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Linny, Dr. Sally Ball, Dr. Daniel Moller, Julie Brown and Krystal Armour, hospice nurses of Willis-Knighton.
