Darrin Juul, 41 and Rose Marie Juul, 10, father and daughter, of Fargo died Sunday, April 15, 2012 as a result of the Woodward tornado. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Fargo Gymnasium in Fargo with the Reverend Lee Stinson officiating.
Derrin Juul was born on July 28, 1970 in Santa Rosa, California to Torkill and Sharon Marie (Luster) Juul. He was reared in Sonoma County, California and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. He was inducted into the United States Marine Corp in 1988 and served his country until being honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1992. During his time in the Marine Corp he earned the Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Rifle Expert 3rd Award and Pistol Expert. He was united in marriage to Michele Mary Allen on July 4, 2001 in Reno, Nevada. They made their first home in Windsor, California and moved to Fargo in the early 2000's.
Derrin loved spending time with all of his girls. Derrin loved to tell jokes and stories and make people laugh. He was a very faithful man and was not afraid to let everyone know it. He loved everything about the ocean from the tall ships to lighthouses. He loved building things. He had a wondering soul and lov ed to go to all different places. Derrin was able to see a lot of the world when he was in the Marine Corp and was able to see a lot of the countryside while working in the oilfield. Derrin loved listening to country music and 80's music. We always talked about all the places we were going to visit. He loved being a Daddy, husband and family man more than anything. He would do anything for all his girls!
Derrin is survived by his wife, Michele Mary Allen-Juul of the home; his father Tork Juul and wife Susan; his mother Sherry Elder and husband Bob Elder; two daughters, Savannah Allen and Heather Juul; one sister, Lisa Thorpe and her husband Dan Thorpe.
Rose Marie Juul was born March 1, 2002 in Santa Rosa, California; she was the daughter of Derrin and Michele Mary (Allen) Juul. She was in the fourth grade at Fargo Elementary school. Rose Marie loved giraffes, coloring and drawing pictures, playing barbies and playing grocery store. She always made little snacks and tea with her tea set for her family. She left little notes everywhere for everyone saying different things like "I love you" "Sleep good" "thank you" and "you rock". Rose Marie loved life. She woke up happy and always gave me a big sleepy hug first thing. She loved playing with her sisters everything inside and out. She was just starting to get interested in cooking and baking. She loves to draw and was a very good little artist. She loved watching the new SpongeBob with Heather. She loved wearing dresses and her red lipstick and being very girly. She loved to tell stories. She had the most beautiful smile and freckles and the greatest laugh. Rose Marie was so excited to turn 10 and be in the double digits. She loved reading and loved going to her friends house to play
Rose Marie is survived by her mother, Michele Allen-Juul; two sisters, Savannah Allen and Heather Juul.

Officials have confirmed that 20 people in Woodward were injured by a tornado that killed five people Sunday.
Woodward Mayor Roscoe Hill, who is also a member of the Woodward Regional Hospital board, said Sunday afternoon that seven people were critically injured in the deadly storm. Two of those seven were airlifted to nearby hospitals.
Woodward Police Chief Harvey Rutherford said Sunday that three of the five deaths occurred at the mobile home park.
State medical examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliot says a man named
Frank Hobie and his two daughters, ages 5 and 7, died after the
tornado hit their mobile home park.
She says the other victims were Darren Juul and a 10-year-old girl who died when the home they were in a few miles away was hit.
Authorities say search and rescue crews are combing an area of northwest Oklahoma around the towns of Woodward and Tangier after a tornado just after midnight, local time, left five people confirmed dead.

Tornadoes were spotted yesterday at a faster pace than spotters could keep up with in some places.
Storms were reported in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma. In

The National Weather Service said the tornado hit at 12:18 a.m. Sunday.
Woodward Mayor Roscoe Hill told AP that sirens were not apparently sounding when the tornado hit. He said the sirens had gone off loudly during earlier storms on Saturday afternoon. Hill says the tornado hit in a mixed area of residences and businesses.
Woodward police say search and rescue units have gone to the damage area.
