Edmund C. Bauer
Funeral services for Edmund C. Bauer of Odebolt will be held at 1 pm Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Odebolt.
Mr. Bauer, 69, died Wednesday, Sept, 12, 2001, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.
Rev. Allan Reicks will officiate and burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City.
Friends may call after 2 pm Saturday and rosaries will be held at 4 and 7 pm at Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
A son of John and Mary (Langel) Bauer, he was born May 20, 1932, in Willey.
He was baptized in Willey and confirmed in Halbur and attended St. Augustine School in Halbur.
He and Joleen Haberl were married April 30, 1957, at Carroll. The Bauers lived near Manning, Sac City and in Odebolt.
Mr. Bauer was a farmer and also worked for Noble Manufacturing and Sunwise Systems in Sac City before retiring in 1997.
Mr. Bauer was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Odebolt and enjoyed woodcrafting.
Survivors include three daughters, Deb Flink and her husband Steve of Odebolt, Janet Bauer of Des Moines and Sheryl Antol and her husband John of Des Moines; a son, Mike Fink and his wife Janet of DeSoto; five grandchildren; two brothers, Irvin Bauer and his wife Marguerite of Manning and John Bauer of Des Moines; a sister, Mary Ann Haberl and her husband Don of Maple River; and nine siblings-in-law.
Mr. Bauer was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joleen on Feb. 15, 1998; two brothers, LeRoy Bauer and Alvin Bauer; a brother-in-law Marlind Haberl and two nephews.
