Growing up in Chickasaw, Miss Bobbie attended Murphy High School and the University of Southern Mississippi as a Dixie Darling. She retired from the Mobile County School system where she served as the attendance clerk for Azalea Middle School (Denton). Miss Bobbie was a loving and loyal friend, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald Fussell and Anne Fitch Fussell and sister, Martha Ann (Joe) Lee.
Miss Bobbie's generosity touched many people. She volunteered for several organizations including Santa's Calling, Special Olympics, USA Track & Field Summer Youth Program, First Night Mobile and BayFest, as a co-manager of City Worker Hospitality for the last 16 years. Miss Bobbie's passion was gardening. She inherited a "green thumb" from her mother and grew a variety of flowers, plants and vegetables. In her younger years, any brim in Fowl River and crab in Mobile Bay stood no chance against her cane pole and crab trap. She was a great cook and famous for her chocolate cake and gumbo. Even though Miss Bobbie was a diehard Alabama fan, her sweet and caring nature allowed her to include staunch Auburn fans among her friends. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church for over 40 years.
Miss Bobbie was one of a kind and it is hard to imagine a world without her eternal optimism in it.
