Born Feb. 14, 1941, in Albany, Ore., he was the son of Ira and Marian Boshart Beckler.
Mr. Beckler spent his formative years in Albany. He received his high school diploma from Western Mennonite School in Salem, Ore. For 28 years, he resided in Lebanon, Ore., where he rebuilt electric motors. In 1984, he moved to Wayland. Then, for 18 years, he lived in Mount Pleasant, where he worked for Mount Pleasant Electric, retiring in December 2005. After retirement, he did custodial work at Wayland State Bank in Mount Pleasant.
He was a past president of the Lion's Club of Mount Pleasant. He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Wayland. He was a Sunday school teacher at Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Mount Pleasant. He most recently attended Pilgrim Nazarene Church in Mount Pleasant. He was known for his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed following college football and basketball games.
Survivors include one sister, Naomi Roth of Albany, Ore.; one brother, Delmar Beckler of Mount Pleasant; 12 nieces; eight nephews; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one in infancy, two sisters and a nephew.
Burial will be in Bethel Mennonite Cemetery.
