Singer, Songwriter. Born Laura Nigro, she was a singer-pianist most noted for her many innovative pop music compositions. From 1966 to the 1990s, she wrote hit songs for artists such as The 5th Dimension, Peter, Paul and Mary, Three Dog Night, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, Jackson Brown and many others. Her countless compositions included "And When I Die", "Stoned Soul Picnic", "Stoney End", "Sweet Blindness", "Wedding Bell Blues" and "Eli's Comin". She died in Danbury, Connecticut. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)

Specifically: Ashes buried underneath a Japanese Maple tree planted by her friends outside her bedroom window at her cottage in Danbury, Connecticut. The ashes of her dog Ember are interred with her.

Laura, I miss you dearly. You are my inspiration for singing out in the choir and you are there with me every rehearsal and every Sunday Service as I sing in the choir. I miss you.
