Mrs John Maynard, 82, passed away Sunday evening at Pleasant View Nursing Home here where she had been a patient for the last two years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Wensel Funeral Home with the Rev William Baddeley in charge. Burial was in Hillside cemetery.
Mrs Maynard was born March 22, 1878 in Story county, the daughter of James and Mary Worrall Nailor. She grew up and was educated in the State Center schools.
On July 22, 1900 she was married to John Maynard at Colo and they made their home in State Center where she had since lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947 and one brother.
Among the survivors are five sons and four daughters. They are Lee of Ridgefield, Washington; Raymond of New Providence; William of Hubbard; Wesley of State Center and Theron of Rochester, Minnesota; also Mrs Leon Bodie of Rhodes; Mrs Lee Nolta of Melbourne; Mrs Joseph Miller of Casper, Wyoming and Mrs Kenneth Runberg of Wichita, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs Charles DeVore of Liscomb. Fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
