Rites held for Mrs. Sulentic
Services for Mrs. Ika (Mike) Sulentic, 83, of Albia Manor, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today. She died Saturday at the Monroe County Hospital. The Rev. Paul Donahue was to officiate at the rites, at St. Mary's Church. Burial was to be in the parish cemetery, with the Humeston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The rosary was recited Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sulentic was born in St. Rok, Yugoslavia on June 30, 1890. She came to the United States in 1910, and in 1911 she married Mike Sulentic in Albia. The couple had lived their married life in the country.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas of South Bend, Ind., and Anthony of Albia; three daughters, Mrs. Mary (George) White of Silver Spring, Md., Mrs. Katherine Paveglio of Des Moines, and Mrs. Anne (James) Scieszinski of Davenport; one sister; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 14, 1941; one child in infancy; two brothers and one sister.
Note: Ika's maiden and married name was Sulentich, her husband Milan Sulentic (1886 - 1941) changed his name from Sulentich to Sulentic hen he came to the U.S. in 1905.
