Born in Farmington, Missouri, he was a right handed pitcher known as 'The Yiddish Curver' making his debut with St. Louis Browns on August 20, 1903. For ten seasons, he played with the St. Louis Browns (1903-12) and part of the 1912 season with the Washington Senators. He ended his career with a record of 92 wins, 117 loss, 175 complete games, 22 shutouts, 4 saves, 693 strikeouts and a 2.63 earned run average.
