Pauline L. (Whitney) Webber, 81, Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek, and formerly of the town of Wheaton, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Barron Medical Center in Barron.

She was born in Elk Mound on April 23, 1923, the daughter of George and Lois (Owen) Whitney.

Pauline married Joseph H. Webber on September 23, 1946, in Wabasha, Minn. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1993.

She loved to play bingo. Pauline also enjoyed playing Canasta and knitting. While residing at the nursing home, she enjoyed bean-bag tossing.

Survivors include five sisters, Goldean (Marvin) Poss of Eau Claire, Emily (Dale) Henning of Columbus, Madie Whitney, Bonnie Whitney and Jeanette (Gary) Ives, all of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews; and her foster daughter, Betty (Ronald) Meservey of Chetek.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son; and two sisters, Lila M. Stenseth and Wanda C. von Asten.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Rumery Cemetery in the town of Wheaton.

Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at Stokes & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 N. Hillcrest Pkwy. (Hwy. 12 East) in Altoona.
