Nina Deyon Hulse was born July 16, 1925, in Rigby to parents William James and Ella Mae West Anderson. She died at the age of 86 on Friday, April 6, 2012, in Umatilla, Ore., surrounded by her family.

Deyon was raised and attended school in Rigby, graduating in 1943.

She was united in marriage to William Henry Hulse on July 14, 1944, in Rigby. They lived in Idaho and Montana before moving to Oregon in 1973.

They settled in Irrigon, Ore., and Deyon worked as a cook at Riverside High School in Boardman, Ore., for several years. Later, she babysat and was grandma to many of the children in Irrigon.

Deyon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boardman. She enjoyed time with her family, crocheting, going to auctions and church activities. Her family would like thank Ashley Manor in Hermiston, Ore., for their wonderful care and support.

She is survived by her children, William Brent and Sharon Hulse of Irrigon, Sheila and Clayton Gudmundson of White Sulfur Springs, Mont., Boyd and Barbara Hulse of Irrigon, Deanna Bacon and Melvin Thomas of Irrigon, Susan and Mark Parsons of Irrigon, Craig and Donna Hulse of Irrigon, and Luke and Jan Maynard of Irrigon; sister, Bonnie Allen of Valencia, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Deyon was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; great-grandson, Adrian; two brothers, Elwood and Clement; and sister, Clella.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boardman, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to services. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Ririe-Shelton Cemetery in Ririe. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, Ore., is in care of arrangements.
