OKLAHOMA CITY: William Preston Halford, 89, died on March 15, 2012, in Oklahoma City. Bill was born in Denver, Colorado, December 23, 1922. He was the youngest of two children born to William Halford and Ruby Halbert.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Bob) Halford of Denver, Colorado; two nieces, Pamela Miles and Andrea Shea, CO; and one nephew, Jeff Halford, Hawaii. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Vanda Virginia (VanValkenburg) Halford.

He is also survived by Vanda's three children, whom he raised and loved as his very own: son, Frank Digilio of Florida; daughters: Kathie Digilio of Texas; and Dianne (Digilio) and husband Britton Boyd, along with their two children, Nathan and Sarah Boyd, of Norman, Oklahoma. In 1945, he started his career with Standard Oil and retired with Exxon oil as purchasing agent. He loved playing golf and had the honor of two holes-in-one. He loved music and recording hundreds of songs from records to cassette tapes. Four words sum up Bill's life: "Wonderful, Devoted, Caring, and Generous," as a husband, dad, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
