Darrel Hunter Moss, 62, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, from health-related causes.

He was born Nov. 18, 1949, in Idaho Falls to John Elmer and Florence Hunter Moss. He grew up in Ririe and attended Ririe High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked on a transport ship hauling supplies.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading. Darrel was a generous, good and kind-hearted man. He was always helping those who were down and out.

He is survived by his sisters, Jean Longhurst of Spokane, Wash., and Golda (Jack) Heidt of Idaho Falls; and brothers, Larry (Elaine) Moss of Bend, Ore., Tom (Susan) Moss of Idaho Falls and Patrick Moss of Eugene, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Elmer Moss, and his mother, Florence H. Moss.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 10, in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery in Ririe. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard.
