His acclaimed career commenced when he won the distinguished Courtauld International Design Competition 1966. His name was then synonymous with the late 1960s Swedish 'pop-fashion'. He also was established in Paris as well as North America. He became involved with TV, radio, shows and events, and made his name as a producer and host. Two years prior to his death he went public that he had caught AIDS. He was one of the first to give AIDS a public face and contributed very much to the enlightening on the disease.
