Carolyn Alice Kasper, 83, of Grants Pass died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Apostolic Faith Church, with Rob Wakefield, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 N.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526.

Kasper was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Lyndon, Vt. She moved to Portland with her family in 1933. On June 8, 1940, in Portland, she married Harold W. Kasper, who survives. They moved to Klamath Falls, and in 1947, they moved to Eureka, Calif., to participate in church work. In 1969, she moved to Grants Pass.

She was active in the Apostolic Faith Church as a Sunday school teacher and in music. She also volunteered at rest homes and in other ministries. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery and making crafts.

In addition to her husband, survivors include four children, Arlene Bright of Myrtle Creek, Loretta Jordan of Eureka, Calif., and David Kasper and Debbie Burton, both of Grants Pass; six sisters, Thelma Wickberg, Pearl Hamblin and Mary Purpuree, all of Grants Pass, Mae Loomis of Rexford, Mont., Betty Jackson of Fruita, Colo., and Esther Ballard of St. Charles, Mo.; two brothers, Joseph Joli of Oregon City and James Joli of Grants Pass; nine grandsons and 28 great-grandchildren.
