MARTIN M. HARRIS

Martin M. Harris, 67, 1222 Gray Street, Gadsden, died Saturday at 11:45 a.m. at his residence following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with the Revs. George Warren and Will Harris officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers will be Ronald Harris, R.L. Sarrett, Jackie Harris, Gordon Sarrett, Wayne Murdock, Kenneth Hubbard, Paul Harris and Horace Tolbert. All personal friends will be honorary pallbearers.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Smith Harris; five sons, Allen Harris, Boaz; Bill Harris, Ft. Knox, Ky.; Ellis Neely Harris, San Diego, Calif., and O.Z. and Martin M. Harris, Jr., both of Gadsden; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Nance, Gadsden, and Mrs. John Adcock, Tampa, Fla.; four brothers, Vester Harris, Oak Hill, W. Va., and Clarence, Tom and A.J. Harris, Jr., all of Attalla; a sister, Mrs. Eugene Watson, Attalla; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A retired employee of Republic Steel, Mr. Harris was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler Chapel through the hour of service.
