Robert was the youngest of Joseph A. Tucker and Tymandra Jane Mooney's six known children. He was just 11 months old when his father died in October 1864 as a Confederate soldier who was released 3 days earlier from the infamously horrible POW camp in Elmira, New York. Tymandra never remarried, so she raised Robert with the help of his older siblings, kin and neighbors in Monroe Co., WV.
Robert married Jessie A. Miles in March 1897 in Richardson Co., NE. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by wife Jessie (1902), and sister Sarah Patterson Tucker (1886/1889, wife of Jacob Floyd Tucker). His death in 1903 was due to Typhoid Malaria, and he left behind his mother; his daughter Marie Miles Lively (born Sept. 1900); three siblings, James F. Lively (of Falls City, NE) , Henry Mooney Lively (of Monroe Co., WV), and Malissa Frances Ellis (of Summers Co., WV, widow of Joseph William Ellis); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
