Andrew's father was a soldier who died in the Norwegian-Swedish war of 1807-1814, he was killed May 25, 1808 in the battle of Jerpset in Eidskog Co., Norway. Other comments found say he was killed in the "Laerdal Expedition" fighting against the Swedes, standing in a circle defending the company.

Emigrated from Hafslo, SF, to the Koshkonong settlement, Dane Co., WI; moving soon to Bristol Twp., Dane Co., WI; Died November 12, 1885, buried in the Vermont Lutheran Cemetery, Dane Co., WI.

He was on the Peter Schneider which departed from Bergen, Norway and arrived in New York, June 30, 1845, having sailed from Bergen, 45 days earlier.

On the other side of Andrew's marker has this name Christen Paulson Westrom

Anders Sjurson Solvorn, christened in Hafslo Dec. 29, 1799, married in Hafslo May 18, 1825 Anna Olsdotter Barsnes, christened in Sogndal Co., Norway Mar. 22, 1801. Anders was a tailor, and the couple resided at Solvorn in Hafslo parish until 1845.

Andrew and Anna Severson emigrated in 1845 and farmed for a while in Bristol township, Dane Co., WI, moving about 1855 to a farm in Vermont township, Dane Co., WI where Anna died about 1868. Andrew Severson lived his later years with daughter Andrena in Vermont township, Dane Co., WI where he
died Nov. 12, 1885.
