Actress. She was best known for playing the character roles of mothers, restaurant workers, or Spanish-speaking women, usually in western films and western television series. She will be best remembered for playing the role of 'Mama Gomez' in the western sports film drama, "Born Reckless" (1958). The film which was directed by Howard W. Landau and Aubrey Schenck, and which also starred Mamie Van Doren, Jeff Richards, and Arthur Hunnicut, tells the story of Rider Kelly Cobb who travels to county rodeos to win money so he can buy a patch of land he wants to call his own. He rescues trick rider, Jackie Adams, from the clutches of an amorous sports writer after her saloon song, and they travel together. Following her death, her memorial services took place at Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Mortuary in Costa Mesa, California, and she was buried in Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Memorial Park in Costa Mesa, California. She was married in Los Angeles, California, to Harold M. Fieldman (1919-1984), on October 7, 1950. The couple had no children together. In her private life, she was known as Allegra Rachel Cohen Fieldman.
