Death: Jan. 22, 1951, North Korea

Sergeant First Class Harris was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 30, 1950 and died while a prisoner on January 22, 1951. His remains were not recovered at the time and his name was inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at Honolulu Memorial. Sergeant First Class Harris was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. SFC Harris was accounted for on Feb. 29, 2012, and his remains were buried in Tahoma National Cemetery on April 10, 2012.
