|Birth: ||Oct. 31, 1841|
|Death: ||Jun. 18, 1924|
According to her death certificate, she was the daughter of William Talley and Ann (Smith) Talley, pioneers of the area that would become Kansas City. She is found in their household in 1850 and 1860 in Jackson County, Missouri. Her death certificate gives 1841 as her year of birth, but census records suggest she was likely born in 1844 or 1845.
She married her first husband, Augustus Darris or Dorris, 5 January 1861 in Jackson County. With him she had a daughter, Sarah Jane, born in 1861.
Jesten married her second husband, Thomas Atchison, 26 February 1863 in Jackson County. He was the father of second daughter, Eliza, born in 1864.
She married her third husband, Stephen Edgington, 11 June 1867, in Jackson County. Together they had six children: Melissa (b. 1869), Dora P. (b. 1875), Frank E. (1877-1914), Steven Linzie (1879-1916), William George Riley (1882-1924), and James Lee (1884-1928).
Jeston survived three husbands and, it appears, six of her eight children.
According to Findagrave volunteer Doris Snyder, the cemetery has no record of her burial here (although "Forest Park" is named on her death certificate). She may be in the old Shoal Creek Baptist Church section.
