Charles H. Small
Horton-Charles H. Small, 57, Horton, was dead on arrival late Wednesday, Dec. 12, at a Horton hospital.
Mr. Small was a Kansas Highway Department engineering aide for 28 years. He also served in the Kansas National Guard for 13 years.
He was born Jan. 10, 1927, at Horton, the son of Henry and Hazel Sleppy Small. He was graduated from Horton High School in 1945 and attended Washburn University in Topeka.
Mr. small was a member of Horton Christian Church where he was an elder and Sunday school teacher.
He was married to Linette Miller on June 3, 1956, at Huron. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Wahl, Manhattan; three sons, Dale Small, Horton, Lee Small, Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mark Small, Peru, Neb.; his mother, Mrs. Hazel small, Horton; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Myers, Horton, and Mrs. Rosemary Madlin, Houston; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Horton. Burial will be in Muscotah Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at Maple=Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Contributions may be made to the Charles H. Small Memorial Fund to be designated at a later time by the family.
