Margaret Troop, Scout Leader

Margaret Louise Troop, 50, of 214 N. Shippen St., died Saturday evening at her residence following a brief illness.

She had last been employed by Precisionform Inc. Prior to that she held various jobs at Rite Aid, Irex Inc., Conestoga Memorial Park cemetery, and at the former Plum Street Sewing Factory.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua church and was active in Boy Scouts, serving as a den mother for Troop 18 at her church.

A graduate of McCaskey High School, she enjoyed reading and crafts.

She was the wife of Ronald Troop. They were married 29 years in August.

Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Speece Walker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Keith C., husband of Heather Troop, of Lancaster; two brothers, Robert J. Walker, of Las Vegas, NV, and Craig A., husband of Paulette Walker, of Carlisle; and seven sisters, Susan Walker, Bonnie, wife of Robert Schlager, and Carole, wife of Paul Edwards, all of Lancaster; Miriam, wife of R. Richardson, of Springfield, IL, Debra, wife of Gary Radcliffe, of Largo, FL, Shirley, wife of Glen Dietrach, of York, and Geraldine, wife of Robert Degodt, of Papillion, NE.

A sister, Barbara Reisinger, preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial service at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of service. Interment in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster, will be held Saturday, January 23, at 10 a.m. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's memory to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
