Contralto. She first appeared as a concert singer. She was engaged at the Leipzig Opera in 1887, where she first sang in "Die Loreley." She later joined the Imperial Opera in Berlin and sang there for over thirty years. Because she was jewish, she was persecuted by the Nazi regime; she was finally imprisoned and died in the concentration camp at Auschwitz.
