Bonnie Marie (Altis) Jeffries, 79, passed away on April 3, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. After 30 years of Civil Service employment (28 years with the US Forest Service) Bonnie retired in 1988. Bonnie had a genuine love of nature and all of its offerings. She found many, many hours of enjoyment in her yard planting flowers, trimming trees or bushes, pulling weeds, filling bird feeders. Bonnie always welcomed friends and visitors to her garden sharing with them the beauty and peace she found in nature. Bonnie was an avid bridge player and a member of multiple bridge clubs. Besides the love of the game, she treasured the lifelong friendships that developed at the card table. Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue McCallister; her father, Lloyd Altis; her step-father, Glen McCallister; and her brother, William "Bill" Altis. She is survived by her daughters, Karolyn Sue Adams and husband, Dan; Kelly Radford and husband, Mike; her son, Brian "Chip" Jeffries; six grandchildren: Spencer, Karmen, Jennifer, Arianna, Colton, and Kelson; six great-grandchildren: Keenan, Alexis, Grace, Andre', Megan, and Olivia; her sister, Beverly Armstrong and husband, Tommy; a niece, Sharon; and a nephew, Darrin.
